Lizbeth (Beth) Saunders was born and raised in Appleton, but settled with her husband in the Milwaukee area where Jeff landed his first job after college. The couple both attended college in the Milwaukee area, Jeff at MSOE and Beth at Carroll College, and married soon after graduation.
At Carroll College, Beth took a liking to printmaking, portrait and life drawing, but has never pursued any as a fine art. However, printmaking class did direct Beth onto her current career path as a graphic designer. Beth felt troubled deciding on a college major as her left brain loved the logic and theory of mathematics but her right brain was always pushing her to be creative. She graduated with an Art major and Math and Spanish minors.
The print industry offered the closest match to the printmaking class Beth loved. Computer-based graphic design was not quite there yet during her college years, but after graduating Beth did purchase her first Mac (Classic) and enrolled in classes at WCTC. Graphic design was truly the perfect marriage that harnessed her creativity along with her knack for numbers.
Beth now freelances working from her home office as well as contracting onsite. A firm believer in ongoing learning, Beth is a member of the Milwaukee InDesign Users Group and partakes of several seminars. Beth’s artistic mediums differ from the standard artist: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; but she firmly believes the creative process she goes through is the same—just a different means of execution.
Beth specifically joined the Art Guild to be surrounded again by talented artists that will surely inspire her to try working with her hands again. But she is truly tickled to feel so useful to the Guild serving as its webmaster and continually challenges herself to discover new ways to further broadcast what a wonderful group the Guild is.
